Face Recognition – Great New Updates to Google+
There is no stopping Google at the moment. The brand has gone from a powerful search engine to a vast online empire and shows no signs of stopping. Google now offers numerous great tools and apps for web users. The latest addition is the Face Recognition software for Google +.
Google + Features:
Google+ has recently received several key upgrades. This new sociable Google has proven popular and has increased the effectiveness of online data gathering and retrieval. One of the key new features is ‘Find my face’.
- Face detection is now more important than ever for users. This is also a standard feature provided by social networking giant Facebook.
- However, Google have taken a lesson from the backlash Facebook received and made the Find my Face feature optional. Facebook were heavily criticised by many as their face recognition software was a default setting which many, rightly, felt invaded their privacy.
- The Google face recognition software will give you the option of accepting or denying someone tagging you. This means you have full control of your online identity.
- When you upload a photo, Google will prompt you to turn on the Find my Face feature. You will then be able to choose which photos you allow on the facial recognition feature.
- Facial recognition software will work on any clear photograph or image.
- Don’t forget, if you are tagged by another Google user you will have the option of un-tagging yourself if you want to preserve your privacy online.
- You can also turn Find my Face off completely by using the settings function.
- With these additional optional features, Google has taken a step further than Facebook. Anything that helps users to control aspects of their online persona is a good thing.
- With Find my Face you will be able to tag individual faces within photographs. The face recognition software will then alert you if it finds the same faces in other online resources.
- This can be a powerful and easy way to find your friends. Particularly so, if you cannot remember an old friends full name or if they have changed their names over the years.
- Find my Face can help you to stay in contact with people and track down those you may have lost touch with.
More Social Networking Upgrades:
Google has also upgraded several other parts of their social networking platform. It is now even easier to connect your Google accounts and you now have the option of adding people directly from your Google+ account to your Gmail. The upgrade also lets you share things on Google+ directly from your gmail dashboard.
